In June 2006, Nicolas Adams joined TRSB, now Lùkla, for his first assignment as a Support Technician. Twenty years later, he looks back on a career shaped by demanding environments, diverse experiences and many meaningful encounters.
A first assignment that sets the tone
When Nicolas joined the company, his first assignment was as a Support Technician at Crédit Suisse, working on a trading floor. At the time, the client was undergoing a major international reorganisation of its IT department.
His technical skills and fluency in English were quickly recognised. He was soon entrusted with overseeing the creation of a local support service, in collaboration with HP.
“I was hired as a Support Technician, but the client appreciated my skills and fluency in English. They offered me the opportunity to oversee the creation of a local support service.”
This first experience already set the tone for the rest of his career: adapting quickly, taking on responsibilities and supporting teams in complex environments.
A rich and diverse career
Over the years, Nicolas has held a variety of roles, including Support Technician, Team Leader, Project Lead and Knowledge Base Manager.
Today, as a Team Leader, he is looking to take the next step in his career and move into an Incident Manager role.
His assignments in the banking sector have been among the most significant. In environments where service quality and responsiveness are essential, he has developed both his technical expertise and his ability to build strong client relationships.
He has also worked with major companies such as L’Oréal and Danone, as well as organisations in the public sector, including the Hauts-de-Seine Departmental Council, the French Services and Payment Agency (ASP) and SIAAP.
“All these assignments have enabled me to develop a strong ability to adapt, broad technical expertise and a solid understanding of how to manage relationships with clients and users.”
Helping the most complex assignments move forward
Nicolas is regularly called upon to take over existing contracts, sometimes facing organisational or operational challenges.
His role is then to bring his experience to the table, restructure working methods and find the right balance between client expectations and Lùkla’s commitments.
“I like to think that I left these contracts in a better position than when I arrived.”
Twenty years of growth alongside Lùkla
Since 2006, Nicolas has seen the company transform: regional expansion, the creation of new entities such as Agence PROvidence, evolving areas of expertise, the integration of new technologies and several moves of the company’s headquarters.
Over the same period, his personal life has evolved too, with the birth of his three children.
This stability, combined with the diversity of the client environments he has experienced, has played a major role in his desire to continue developing his career within the Group.
“I never felt the need to leave a stable position only to find another similar one elsewhere. At Lùkla, I had found the right balance between my professional and personal life.”
Encounters that leave a lasting impression
When Nicolas looks back on his best memories, he thinks first and foremost of the people he has met and the relationships he has built with teams, clients and Lùkla representatives.
Over the years, colleagues have reminded him of advice or explanations he had shared that helped them along their own career paths.
“Those small moments are the ones that mean the most to me. Knowing that something I shared was useful to someone else is what has truly stayed with me.”
Reliability as a core value
Among the values he associates with Lùkla, Nicolas places reliability first. He also highlights rigour, professionalism, a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to adapt.
“Over time, this company has become like a family to me, with its successes as well as its challenges. I have always known that I could count on Lùkla to support me throughout my professional journey.”
A message of perseverance
For colleagues who have joined Lùkla more recently, Nicolas recommends taking the time to learn, being thorough and demonstrating their value through their work.
“Sometimes, progress is slower than we would like. But with time, perseverance and dedication, hard work eventually pays off.”
After twenty years at Lùkla, Nicolas continues to move forward with the same determination to grow, share his experience and put his expertise at the service of both teams and clients.
