After nearly 30 years with TRSb, now known as Lùkla, Jean-Noël Bonnet has retired after a remarkable career. It’s the perfect opportunity to look back on a journey shaped by the evolution of IT—from the very first PC installations to providing user support for major organizations—with one constant throughout: the satisfaction of helping others.
A Passion Born with the First Computers
When Jean-Noël began his career, information technology was still in its early days. Originally working as a telephone operator in Bull’s Telecommunications Department, he witnessed the arrival of the first computers in the workplace.
Curious and passionate about these emerging technologies, he gradually developed his expertise and became one of the first people able to provide IT support to end users.
“ I’ve always enjoyed seeing people happy when their problems were solved. ”
This philosophy remained at the heart of his career from beginning to end.
Joining TRSb in Its Early Days
In 1997, Philippe Guinchard, the Group President, introduced Jean-Noël to the TRSb adventure. At the time, the company had only around ten employees, and everyone could fit around the same meeting table.
Jean-Noël joined a growing company that he would help shape for nearly three decades.
“ I remember Philippe wearing many hats—as both CEO and salesperson—and those early meetings when there were only about ten of us ”
Since then, he has witnessed the company’s growth, the expansion of its expertise, and the development of its teams.
A Career Filled with Diverse Projects
Over the years, Jean-Noël supported a wide range of clients, including Bull, Banque Worms, Oddo, Dalkia, SNCF, and L’Oréal.
Every assignment allowed him to broaden his experience, although some projects left a particularly lasting impression.
One of his fondest memories is his time at Dalkia, where he helped transform an IT department that was initially undervalued into a highly respected team, appreciated by both the client and its users.
“ We started with just two people and managed to build a team recognized for the quality of its work. That’s probably the achievement I’m most proud of. ”
As for his final assignment at L’Oréal, Jean-Noël recalls it with a smile:
“ They were looking for a new model… but in the end, I mostly provided IT support ! ”
A Career Centered on People
Although technology has evolved dramatically since the beginning of his career, one thing has remained unchanged: his passion for working with people.
For Jean-Noël, IT support has never been just about solving technical issues. Above all, it’s about helping someone who needs a solution.
Beyond the projects themselves, he also treasures the many relationships he built at TRSb and later at Lùkla, which made this professional journey such a rewarding human experience.
His Advice to the Next Generation
Before closing this important chapter of his professional life, Jean-Noël wanted to share a simple message with the colleagues continuing the Lùkla journey today :
“ I believe it’s essential to enjoy what you do. When you love your work, you look forward to getting up in the morning—and that’s what makes all the difference. ”
The entire Lùkla team warmly thanks Jean-Noël for his professionalism, positive attitude, and commitment throughout all these years, and wishes him a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement !
